Ex-boyfriend held in burglary

AUSTINTOWN — A 16-year-old South Raccoon Road boy faces juvenile charges of aggravated burglary and resisting arrest after he entered his former girlfriend’s house Monday afternoon while she was sleeping.

The girl, 14, told police that when she woke up in her bedroom at about 4 p.m., the former boyfriend was standing over her, having apparently walked into the home through an unlocked door.

The boy said he was angry that the girl had deleted him from her MySpace page on the Internet, she said.

The girl said the boy took a phone she was using and smashed it. The girl said he also grabbed her by the neck as she tried to run to a neighbor’s apartment.

The girl’s mother called police when she arrived home.

Police arrested the boy later Monday when he returned to the residence for a fourth time. In each of the earlier times, the boy would leave before police arrived, police said.

The boy was in custody of the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center on Tuesday when charges were filed against him by the court.
