Vacant house set afire in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN — Footprints were found in the snow leading away from a fire intentionally set at 620 W. Ravenwood Ave. on the South Side around 12:10 a.m. today, the fire department said. Firefighters forced their way through the front and side doors at the vacant house and discovered that the fire had been started in a back room and burned a hole into the basement. Whoever started the fire closed the doors upon leaving and attempted to brush away their footprints in the snow. Damage was set at $1,000.
