Crestview, Beaver Local fall in tournaments

SALEM — Kurt Hamilton tossed in 27 points including seven 3-point goals Monday to lead the Waterloo High basketball team to a 65-43 victory over Crestview in Division III boys sectional action at Salem High.

Mark Einsiedel led the Rebels (10-11) with 13 points.

Waterloo (15-6) broke open a close contest in the third quarter when it outscored the Rebels 25-11.

Waterloo led 22-18 at halftime.

Dover 53, Beaver Local 32

STEUBENVILLE — Marcus Mamarella scored 21 points while Eric Dummermuth had 14 with 11 rebounds to lead Dover (19-2) in the Div. II sectional at Steubenville Arena.

Shawn Mercer scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds to spark Beaver Local (2-19) while Ethan Russell added 10 points.

Dover advanced to a sectional game Thursday at 6:15 p.m. against the winner of the Coshocton-East Liverpool game, with the winner qualifying for the district meet also at Steubenville Arena.
