“American Idol” (8 p.m., Fox): It’s finally time for the “American Idol” primaries as voters all over the nation begin casting ballots for their favorite crooners. The field has been narrowed to 24 hopefuls, who perform this week in a pair of two-hour telecasts. Tonight it’s the men; Wednesday it’s the women. The bottom two vote-getters from each group get eliminated on Thursday’s results show.
