on weapon charge

YOUNGSTOWN — Police said Luis Rodriguez, 37, of Green Street, was arrested after he was found carrying a concealed weapon outside Judge Roy Bean Court Inc., a bar at 1442 Oak St. Police said they were called to the bar around 2:25 a.m. Saturday to investigate reports of a fight involving a gun. When they arrived, a bar employee pointed out Rodriguez, who was walking into the parking lot, as the man with a gun. The first officer on the scene ordered Rodriguez to stop and take his hands out of his pockets but said Rodriguez kept walking. When ordered again to stop, Rodriguez turned and looked at the officer but still had his hands in his pockets, the officer said. At that point, the officer drew his own gun and Rodriguez then took his hands from his pockets and surrendered peaceably. Police said they found a loaded .25-caliber handgun in his right front pocket. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and lodged in Mahoning County Jail pending arraignment today.
