Choir raising funds to perform in N.C.

AUSTINTOWN — The ROCcK Children’s Choir will perform at Victory Junction Gang Camp in North Carolina in June as participants in Pediatric Cancer Week.

Victory Junction is a destination where terminally ill and seriously ill children may attend a week for free. Kyle Petty and his family started this NASCAR version. NASCAR drivers and other celebrities have visited the camp.

ROCcK, Raising Our Commitment to Cancer Kids, will be conducting fundraisers for the trip to North Carolina. Any extra money will be donated to the camp.

The next fundraiser, a pancake breakfast, is at 8 a.m. March 15 at Christ Community Church, 531 Neoka Drive, Campbell. The cost is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students and $2 for those 3 to 6 years old. The choir will perform at the top of each hour.

Tickets for the breakfast are available at Glorious Homes Inc., 14 N. Anderson Ave., Austintown; Himes Tax Service, 3225 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown; or by calling (330) 360-3300. They can also be purchased at the door.

Brenda Rider is director and founder of ROCcK.
