Man arrested after police chase from Pa.


ENON VALLEY, Pa. — A man was arrested after a police chase that began at Vine and Main streets here and ended in Ohio, Pennsylvania State Police in New Castle reported.

Police chased George Faulkner Jr., 21, of state Route 14 in East Palestine, to East Palestine on state Route 351.

Faulkner was observed “peeling out” of the intersection at 8 p.m. Friday, and when police followed him he accelerated to 80 mph in a 35 mph zone, police said.

When police tried to pull him over, he accelerated to 105 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 351, police said.

Outside East Palestine, he entered a parking lot and hit three unattended vehicles before driving into a field, police said.

He was eventually caught with the help of private citizens and the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office, police said.

He was put in the Lawrence County Jail.

He was arraigned Saturday morning on vehicle code violations and a reckless endangerment charge, the patrol said.

State police did not have details on what happened at the arraignment.
