Austintown native Dan Birmingham is the trainer for Winky Wright. He shared his thoughts on the fight with The Vindicator and vindy.com:

ROUND TWELVE

Taylor's eye looking bad. Kelly hurts his and Taylor answers. They both are going all out this last round. Pavlik landing his one two combos and adds the hook. Minute to go with kelly winning this round. Great power jab and backs Taylor to ropes and lands good power shots .Taylor gets a few good punches. Lederman over credits Taylor. Kelly pavlik all the way 10-9 Pavlik wins this one big and looks good doin it, now he must fight Winky Wright to prove he's the best middleweight!

ROUND ELEVEN

Championship rounds. Kelly comes out jabbing and moving Taylor back as he's had the whole fight. Taylor letting his hands go with power shots. Kelly throwing good jabs and landing his right hand well. As the round ends Pavlik lands a thunderous body shot. Pavlik pulls it out at the end. 10-9

ROUND TEN

Kelly is setting the pace dictating the pace and working his jab well, landing his right hand and body shots when close. Kellys effective aggression has to count. All pavlik this round and Taylor tries to get going.. Taylor is coming on at the end. Taylor 10-9

ROUND NINE

Kelly boxing well, letting his hands go and landind with accuracy. Kell is outworking Taylor, but Taylor is landing good shots also, but kelly is the busier fighter. Taylors eyes swelling badly from Kellys power jabs. Both guys excahge body shots. Pavlik 10-9

ROUND EIGHT

Pavlik is scoring well, doubling his jab and landing his right hand, Taylor answers with a jab right hand. Both fighters landing well Pavlik edges Taylor with good one two combos, still backing Tayor up. Kelling blocking well, Taylor lands big right hand. Pavlik lands well at the end. Pavlik 10-9 in a close one.

ROUND SEVEN

Lederman has Pavlik ahead, and as usual is wrong. Kelly is the aggressor, but Taylor is getting his punches in too. No backing up for Kelly as he pushes Taylor. taylor lands a good body shot but Kelly answers with a clean right hand. Pavlik keeps pushing Taylor back and Taylor throws a good combo at the end. Pavlik wins this one 10-9

ROUND SIX

Pavlik continues to be the aggressor, landing more combinations and winning this round comfortably so far . Kelly continues to use his jab and control even though Steward thinks otherwise. Close round, Kelly just a little busier. 10-9 Pavlik

ROUND FIVE

Pavlik starts again with the jab pushing Taylor back. Taylor's eye starting to swell. Pavlik controling the action with his jab. Taylor lands a good right hand and Pavlik shows the good chin he has. Pavlik is countering well with right hands and hooks. Taylor showing better defense this fight. !0-9 for Kelly as he bloodies the nose of Taylor and outworks Taylor.

ROUND FOUR

Taylor countering well early. Kelly uses hie jab well early, looking for the right hand. Taylor slipping well and is countering with his hook. Kelly continues to pressure Taylor, with good solid body work. 10-9 Pavlik

ROUND THREE

Kelly comes out jabbing effectively early and looking to land more right hands this round. Taylor lands a right hand, but Pavlik is seeing everything. Both fighters exchanged well but Taylor is using his distance well. 10-9 Taylor in a close round.

ROUND TWO

Taylor jabbing well early in the round. Kelly blocking well, and starts letting his hands go. Good right hand by Taylor in mid round. Taylor still jabbing well. Close round, Taylor scored well this round. 10-9 Taylor

ROUND ONE

Taylor comes out of his dreesing room looking like he means business. Team Pavlik marches to the ring like an army going to war! It sounds like a Pavlik crowd. Michael Buffer announces Taylor, then our Champ. The faceoff is intense. Kelly uses his jab well early on. Taylor uses his jab well also. Pavlik landa a big left hook to the body of Taylor.Kell shakes Taylor with a solid. jab right hand combo. Close round but kelly pulls it out landing the better punches. 10-9 Kelly

PRE-FIGHT

Good evening Pavlik Fans, Dan Birmingham here reporting. I've been a fan of Kelly's since I met him and Jack Loew several years ago at one of Winky Wright's fights and was very impressed with his character along with his Dad, Mike Pavlik, trainer Jack Loew, manager Cameron Dunkin, whom I've known for several years and super promoter Bob Arum. With a team in place like that and a fighter like Kelly Pavlik, it's a formula for stardom; all he has to do is win fights and look good doing it. Easier said than done. Jermain Taylor, who my fighter Winky Wright fought and was awarded a draw by a pro -Taylor Judgeship as most everyone in boxing thought Winky won, looks to be in great shape as always and seems to not let the fact that Pavlik ko'd him in their first fight. We will see, my opinion is that Kelly is very confident in the fact that he knows he can win and is totally convinced he will and all of us Youngstowner's, either living there or elsewhere hope, pray and believe Kelly Pavlik will win and move on to even bigger fights. Go Kelly!
