Wilmington 70, Mount Union 60

WILMINGTON — Jay Mathis scored 20 points to lead Mount Union (9-14, 5-11 Ohio Athletic Conference), which suffered from 44 percent shooting (26-of-59) and 24 turnovers. Chris Switzer added 13 points for Mount Union, while Sam King (Brookfield) finished with 12 points and six assists. Brandon Rogers led Wilmington (15-8, 10-6) with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Justin Gaines added 14 points.

Geneva 77, Thomas More 68

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — Mike Ross had 17 points and eight rebounds for Geneva (12-11), which won its second straight game by shooting 51 percent (26-of-51). Justin Nardi added 16 points and eight assists for the Golden Tornadoes, while Bryan Hill had 15 points. Mark Tinklenberg led Thomas More (9-15) with 20 points and Brad Buckner added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Grove City 84, Waynesburg 62

GROVE CITY, Pa. — Shawn Carr scored 18 points and Grove City shot 54 percent from the field (29-of-54) to defeat Waynesburg in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference game. Kris Verderber added 19 points for the Wolverines (15-8, 8-3), while Ryan Gibson scored 14 and Ryan Gerber 12. Tim Drakeley led Waynesburg (8-15, 2-9) with 20 points, while Josh Parisi had 17 points and eight rebounds. Dan Happe scored 12 points.

Hiram 89, Denison 81

HIRAM — Mike McDevitt (Lisbon) had team-highs of 18 points and 10 rebounds, and made 10-of-11 free throws, to lead Hiram (8-15, 5-9 North Coast Athletic Conference). Hassan Muhammed added 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting for the Terriers, who trailed 38-35 at halftime, and Ian Pfouts scored 16. Five players reached double figures for Denison (2-21, 2-12), led by Larry Farmer with 23. Farmer also had 12 rebounds.

Walsh 110, Rio Grande 72

NORTH CANTON — Walsh clinched its fourth straight American Mideast Conference Southern Division title, as Corey Jones tied a career-high with 30 points. Jones made nine 3-pointers. Brandon Speck added 17 points for the Cavaliers (22-4, 10-2), while Josh Johnson (Warren Harding) scored 16 and Eder Araujo 15. Brett Beucler led Rio Grande (8-18, 3-9) with 16 points.

WOMEN

Hiram 57, Oberlin 54

HIRAM — Stephanie Zunic (Canfield) led all scorers with 20 points as Hiram (5-17, 3-11) won a North Coast Athletic Conference game. Alicia Smith scored 14 points to lead Oberlin (5-18, 4-10), while Alyssa Clark finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Roneisha Kinney had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Wilmington 69, Mount Union 56

ALLIANCE — Ellie Geiger (West Branch) and Tessa Pohovey scored 11 points each for Mount Union (8-15, 5-11) in an Ohio Athletic Conference game. Pohovey also had seven rebounds, while Alicia Williams scored 10 points. Marianne McGoron led Wilmington (18-5, 12-4) with 19 points, while Gina Hyle had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jackie Hauke finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Thomas More 64, Geneva 57

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — Thomas More (23-0), ranked No. 5 in NCAA Division III, was led by Jayme Thiem’s 28 points. Nicole Dickman had 12 rebounds. Geneva (19-4) was led by Renee Rawding with 21 points. Allyson Clarke finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds for her 18th double-double of the season.

Grove City 56, Waynesburg 43

GROVE CITY, Pa. — Katy McCready scored a 14 points, marking the third consecutive game she has set a career-high, to lead Grove City in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference game. Laura Miller added 11 points for the Wolverines (9-14, 4-9), while Christine Slater had 11 rebounds. Michaelene Jones led Waynesburg (1-22, 0-12) with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Bethany 86, Chatham 77

BETHANY, W. Va. — Susannah Cartland scored 16 points and Kaitlyn McCormick added 13 for Bethany (14-9, 9-3) in a PAC game. Renee Brandenburg added 12 points and eight rebounds, while Stacy Goode scored 11 points and Kelly Goode had 10. Brittany Brown led Chatham (8-14, 4-8) with 24 points, Kayla Hilko scored 16 and Amanda Vranka 11.

Rio Grande 72, Walsh 53

NORTH CANTON — Dianca Gordon came off the bench to record 10 points and six rebounds for Walsh (12-14, 4-8) in an American Mideast Conference Southern Division game. Britney Walker led No. 24 (NAIA) Rio Grande (20-6, 8-4) with 19 points.
