Cle. State garners 17th win

VALPARAISO, Ind. — J’Nathan Bullock scored 19 points as Cleveland State beat Valparaiso 71-58 Thursday night in the Horizon League.

Cedric Jackson had 15 points and seven assists and Joe Davis scored 11 for the Vikings (17-10, 10-5), who out-rebounded the Crusaders 29-26 in a game that featured four ties and four lead changes.

Valparaiso led 35-34 at the break, but Breyohn Watson hit a jumper to give the Vikings the lead and Cleveland State never again trailed.

The Crusaders (14-11, 5-8) got to within 53-51 with 9:15 left, but Kevin Francis answered with a 3-pointer that ignited a 13-4 run that gave the Vikings a 10-point lead. Valpo never threatened again.

Urle Igbavboa scored 14 to lead Valparaiso. Shawn Huff had 13 and Brandon McPherson 11.

Wright State 55, Loyola 51

FAIRBORN — Will Graham scored 17 points, including the go-ahead layup in the game’s final minutes, to help Wright State beat Loyola.

J.R. Blount scored 10 points for Loyola (9-15, 5-9). The Ramblers shot just 25 percent in the second half and were out-rebounded for the game, 37-27.

Wright State’s Vaughn Duggins led all scorers with 20 points.

Detroit 68, Ill.-Chicago 60

DETROIT — Jon Goode scored all of his 22 points in the second half to help Detroit break a three-game losing streak.

The Horizon League’s leading scorer did not attempt a field goal in the first half but scored 10 points during an 18-1 run that gave the Titans (6-18, 2-12) the lead for good midway through the second half. Goode, who scored a career-high 35 points at Illinois-Chicago on Jan. 19, finished the game 7-for-11 from the floor and 4-for-5 from behind the arc.

Robert Kreps and Jermaine Dailey each had 15 points to lead the Flames (14-11, 8-6).
