BROOKFIELD — Corey Hitt 6-2 guard-forward led the Eagles (12-7, 8-5) with 21 points. A four-year starter, he scored his 1,000th career point (1,010) for Hubbard in the Trumbull Athletic Conference contest. The Eagles, ahead 18-12, pulled away 45-24 by halftime and they were in complete command 65-40 at the end of the third quarter. Kurtis Drummond chipped in with 15 points and Robert Wigfall netted 12. Patrick Mulligan, Cameron Derr and Ryan Shugart led the Warriors (2-17, 0-13) with 18, 15 and 10 points respectively.

LEAVITTSBURG — The Vikings (6-13, 5-8) took a 40-34 lead into the fourth quarter and held on for the victory in the Trumbull Athletic Conference game. Mike Morris led the Vikings with 11 points. Steve Woodyard chipped in with 14. Adam Charles led the Indians (5-14, 5-8) with 19 points. Andrew Schenker finished with 15.

Maplewood 73, Bloomfield 53

CORTLAND — The Rockets (13-5, 9-3) built a 38-21 lead by intermission and Bloomfield (7-11, 4-8) wasn’t able to recover in the Northeastern Athletic Conference game. The Rockets put 13 players in the scoring column with Luke Clay leading the balanced attack with 12 points. Lester Byler paced Bloomfield (7-11, 4-8) with 21 points.

West Branch 62, St. Thomas 42

LOUISVILLE — The Warriors (11-9) jumped out to a 14-point lead in the third quarter and Louisville St. Thomas couldn’t recover. Vic Pappas paced the Warriors balanced attack with 16 points. Steve McNeely chipped in with 15 and Trent Woods had 12.
