2 men face child pornography charges

YOUNGSTOWN — Separate federal child pornography charges were filed against two men in their 50s, one in Columbiana County and one in Mahoning County.

Dale P. Dattilio, 56, of East Lincoln Way, Lisbon, and Ned V. Martin, 51, of West Boulevard, Boardman, are each charged with receipt/distribution of visual images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, receipt/distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

While the charges handed up by a federal grand jury in Cleveland on Wednesday are the same against each man, the cases are not related, the government said.

Martin said, “Oh, my God,” when asked for comment and then hung up. The time frame in his indictment is December 2006 through September 2007.

Dattilio could not be reached. The time frame in his indictment is August 2004 through July 2005.

Each man’s indictment alleges that computers were used to receive/distribute the pornography. Both cases are being prosecuted by Michael A. Sullivan, an assistant U.S. attorney.

Dattilio is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 28 in Youngstown federal court by Magistrate Judge George J. Limbert. The case is assigned to Judge Lesley Wells in Cleveland.

Martin is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 22 in Cleveland federal court by U.S. District Judge James S. Gwin.
