Da Boondox climb into boxing ring for Pavlik

YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning Valley hip-hop group Da Boondox is in Kelly Pavlik’s corner.

The group will perform inside a boxing ring Friday night at Barley’s, 21 W. Federal St., downtown.

Pavlik faces Jermain Taylor on Saturday in a rematch of the September fight in which the Youngstown boxer won the middleweight championship.

The 18-and-over show, dubbed Rhymin’ in the Ring, starts at 10 p.m. Opening acts are Trevor Quillan and 5 Elements. Admission is $5.
