HUBBARD

Feb. 8

Burglary: A Taylor Street man reported jewelry missing after a break-in.

Theft: A man in a red Chevrolet Cavalier left a Shell True North station, 204 W. Liberty St., without paying for gasoline.

Domestic violence: A Hubbard man who surrendered to Youngstown authorities was picked up. He was wanted on a warrant from Girard Municipal Court charging him with the crime.

Criminal damaging: A Fairchild Drive woman reported damage to siding and down spouting at her home.

Feb. 9

Theft: Police were called after someone saw two men in a pickup truck removing a metal item from a neighbor’s yard on Christian Avenue.

Feb. 11

Counterfeit: A man and a woman, both of Hubbard, were charged with deception to obtain a dangerous drug after a worker for Rite Aid Pharmacy, 147 W. Liberty St., reported receiving over the phone two phony prescriptions.

Theft: A First Street woman reported a man had borrowed but failed to return to her a set of socket wrenches.

GIRARD

Feb. 8

Breaking and entering: Two Girard men, 18 and 21, were accused of entering the Wonder Bar, 100 W. Liberty St., and taking an undisclosed amount of money, three bottles of liquor, four food items and a set of keys.

Theft: A Mineral Ridge boy discovered his $200 electric guitar missing after a concert at an East Kline Street church.

Feb. 10

Criminal damaging: A West Second Street man accused a 12-year-old girl of tossing walnuts at his residence and breaking a window, as well as breaking a pair of his son’s glasses.

Feb. 11

Theft: The owner of a piece of rental property on South Ward Avenue discovered someone had cut a copper pipe. Missing were a cordless drill, two batteries and a charger.

LIBERTY

Feb. 8

Attempted burglary: A Pleasant Valley Road woman realized someone tried to force open a rear door and had rummaged through her trash cans.

Criminal damaging: Someone drove a vehicle off road and damaged two lawns in the 900 block of Royal Arms Drive. Damage came to $1,000.

Arrest: Officers picked up a Youngstown woman, 26, at the Mahoning County Jail who was wanted by Liberty authorities on a charge of receiving stolen property.

Theft: A 46-year-old Youngstown woman wanted on a warrant from Austintown charging her with theft was taken into custody after being pulled over on state Route 193.

Identity theft: A Mansell Drive man told police he got a letter from a collection agency stating he owes more than $300 on an account he never had.

Possible fraud: A Greenbriar Drive woman reported trying to buy an item online via her account and not having received the item, and that her money was not returned.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Tibbetts-Wick Road woman accused her son, 26, of failing to bring back her business vehicle after he used it to go to an appointment.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered Tri-County Sports Complex Inc., 4200 Logan Gate Road, through a rear door and removed a laptop computer and two other items, for a loss of $4,500.

Feb. 9

Domestic violence: A 34-year-old Roosevelt Drive man was charged after his wife alleged he threatened her with a knife and said during an argument he would kill her and their children. The man also faced a felony count of receiving stolen property when police recovered a firearm determined to have been stolen in Youngstown.

Arrest: After being pulled over on Tibbetts-Wick Road, a 60-year-old Youngstown man faced charges of driving under the influence and obstructing official business. He continued to talk on his cell phone and resisted police, the report showed.

Attempted burglary: A woman saw that someone pried open the front door to her Church Hill-Hubbard Road home, though nothing appeared to be missing.

Feb. 10

Domestic violence: A James Lane man, 20, was charged after his girlfriend and sister reported being victims. The girlfriend alleged the man struck her; the sister alleged he shoved her against a wall on two occasions during an argument. Also arrested was a 19-year-old Youngstown man wanted on a warrant from the Trumbull County 911 Center.

Drugs: A traffic stop near state Route 304 led to an 18-year-old Youngstown man’s being charged with drug abuse after police said they found a small bag of suspected marijuana.

Burglary: A Church Hill Road woman returned and found a notebook containing her banking information missing. No signs of forced entry were discovered, the report said.

Feb. 11

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into five rental sheds at E-Z Self Storage, 1335 Trumbull Ave., though it was undetermined if anything had been taken.

Criminal damaging: An employee at a Motor Inn Drive business told officers someone used a large truck to drive through and damage a lawn. Damage was estimated at $750.

Feb. 12

Drugs: A charge of drug abuse was pending against a 20-year-old Niles woman after authorities responded to a Belmont Avenue motel regarding a possible overdose on OxyContin and cocaine. A Cortland man, 28, was charged with complicity to drug abuse after a witness said he provided OxyContin to the victim.
