Kent State defeats Central Michigan
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Albert Fisher scored a career-high 28 points and pulled down seven rebounds as Kent State defeated Central Michigan 79-66 on Tuesday night.
Kent State (20-5, 9-2 Mid-American) never trailed in the game, jumping out to a 12-2 lead after four minutes of play. The Golden Flashes led by as many as 17 points.
Central Michigan (10-13, 5-6) got as close as three points at 42-39 with 16:57 to play, but the Golden Flashes went on a 18-5 run to put the score at 60-44.
Mike Scott added 10 points for Kent State, while Jordan Mincy had nine.
Giordan Watson had 20 points to lead the Chippewas, while Marcus Van and Jordan Bitzer each had nine.
With the win, Kent State has now won 20 games for 10-straight seasons, which started in the 1998-99 season.
The loss for Central Michigan is its first home loss in conference play.
