Father charged in death of 7-week-old boy

LISBON — A man on probation for a sex crime has been charged in the shaking death of his infant.

Tim McNicol, an assistant Columbiana County prosecutor, said Tuesday that Justin R. Snow, 26, of Oak Street, Leetonia, has been indicted on a charge of involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony, and child endangerment, a third-degree felony.

Snow’s son, Isaac, died July 14, 2007. The infant was 7 weeks old.

McNicol said the investigation showed blows to the head and shaking that were consistent with shaken-baby syndrome.

Snow was released from the county jail on a recognizance bond.

Last year, Snow was placed on probation for five years on a charge of attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor.
