Cleveland State beats Wisconsin-Green Bay

CLEVELAND — J’Nathan Bullock scored a career-high 39 points to lead Cleveland State to an 81-64 win over Wisconsin-Green Bay on Monday night.

Bullock made his first 11 field goal attempts and finished 13-of-14 shooting.

The Vikings (16-10, 9-5 Horizon League) led by as many as 12 in the first half before the Phoenix scored the final nine points of the half to tie the game 37-37 at halftime.

Cederic Jackson opened the second half with a jumper to spark a 29-8 run that gave the Vikings a 66-45 lead with 8:31 remaining.

Breyohn Watson added 11 points for the Vikings, who have won two straight.

Mike Schachtner lead the Phoenix (13-11, 7-7) with 13 points. Rahmon Fletcher and Ryan Tillema each scored 12 and Terry Evans added 11.

The Phoenix have lost two in a row.

Ill.-Chicago 77, Valparaiso 53

CHICAGO — Josh Mayo scored 18 points to lead Illinois-Chicago over Valparaiso.

Scott VanderMeer added 13 points and eight rebounds and Spencer Stewart chipped in 11 points for Illinois-Chicago (14-10, 8-5 Horizon League), which has won four straight.

Illinois-Chicago led 34-30 at the half, but pulled away after the break on a 28-9 run. The Flames shot 58 percent in the second half, compared with 28 percent shooting for Valparaiso (14-10, 5-7).

Illinois-Chicago also had seven 3-pointers after the break, compared with three 3-pointers for the Crusaders, who have lost a season-worst four in a row. The Flames also pulled in 20 points off Valparaiso turnovers.

Shawn Huff had a game-high 19 points and Jarryd Loyd added 14 points for Valparaiso.
