Boardman man hospitalized after beating

AUSTINTOWN — George S. Stephens, 38, of Stratford Road, Boardman, was in the intensive care unit of St. Elizabeth Health Center on Monday night after he suffered two broken ribs and a punctured lung in an assault in the parking lot of the Go Go Girls Cabaret.

Stephens told police he and a cousin, of New Middletown, were leaving the cabaret about 1:30 a.m. Sunday when they were attacked by three other men.

The cabaret is in the former America’s Best Value Inn on Clarkins Drive.

Stephens said the three men knocked him to the ground and kicked him in the sides.

His cousin was struck in the face, causing a bloody nose and swollen eye, Austintown police said.
