WORTH A LOOK | Area activities are open to the public

SALES

• Salvation Army Thrift Store in Austin Center, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A variety of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and bric-a-brac is available.

SHOWS

• Rainbow Quilters plan an open house and quilt show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Wickliffe Christian Church, 3939 Potomac Ave., Austintown. Admission is free, and there will be refreshments, a Chinese auction and door prizes. Quilts will be for sale, or they can be made to order. Also for sale will be wall hangings, pillows and other handmade articles. Quilters meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays.
