BOARDMAN — A Valentine’s Day dinner-dance-concert will be held Feb. 17 in the Grand Ballroom of the Holiday Inn-Boardman. Ron Chick’s Friends, a 22-piece big band orchestra, will provide the music. The band specializes in the music of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darrin, Nat King Cole, Count Basie, Maynard Ferguson, Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich and others of the era. Vocalists Rachel Joy and John Mortin will accompany the orchestra, and DJ Richie D will also entertain. Doors open at 5 p.m., with dinner at 5:20 and the concert-dance at 7 p.m. Those who just want to come for the music portion of the evening can arrive between 6:30 and 7 p.m. The prices are $35, which includes dinner; and $23 for the concert only. ‘Romantic Feelings’

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Westminster College’s Celebrity Series will host “Romantic Feelings,” a Valentine’s dinner-theater program, Saturday in the Witherspoon Room of the McKelvey Campus Center.

The evening begins with dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by a program featuring love songs from opera and Broadway musicals performed by artists-in-residence of the Pittsburgh Opera Company. Reservations are $35. Call Connie McGinnis at (724) 946-7354.

String concert

ALLIANCE — Cleveland Orchestra members Mark and Bryan Dumm will perform classical and sacred music at 3 p.m. Feb. 17 at Christ United Methodist Church, 470 E. Broadway St.

Mark is a violinist while Bryan plays the cello. Both have been members of the Cleveland Orchestra for more than 20 years and have performed throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Refreshments and child care will be provided. An offering will be received.

Dulci-More folk group
anniversary concert

SALEM — Dulci-More, a folk and traditional music ensemble, will hold a concert to mark its 15th anniversary at 2:30 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, 244 S. Broadway. No tickets or reservations are needed.

The concert will feature selections chosen by Dulci-More members, and the audience will be encouraged to sing along. Dulci-More members play mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, guitar, autoharp, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, cello, bass, harmonica, recorder, flute, jug and more. More than 20 members will perform today.

The concert will also feature members of the Dulci-More Little Eagles, a group of United Local Elementary students who learned to play the mountain dulcimer in an after-school program led by Dulci-More.

Exhibit, sale features
work of black artists

PITTSBURGH—The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Education and Community Engagement Department presents Showcase Noir, the fifth annual exhibit and sale of artwork by regional African-American artists and designers, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Benedum Center for Performing Arts, Seventh Avenue, Downtown. Showcase Noir includes paintings, sculptures, photographs, fiber art, jewelry, pottery, and art in various mediums, from some of Pittsburgh’s most talented emerging and established artists. This free event is complimented with live jazz music featuring Gerald Haymon and acid jazz and rare funk from DJ SMI. Participating artists in Showcase Noir include: Leslie Ansley, Ernest Bey, Firdasi Bey, Curtis Cureton, Kendrah Foster, Bangally Gakou, Rita Gregory, Vanessa German, Kyle Holbrook, Marica Jackson, Laverne Kemp, Monique Kollman Luck, Mary Martin, Jim McDowell, Clif McGill, Harriette Meriwether, Anire Mosley, Saihou Njie, Ruth Richardson, Ruth Richardson, Solomon Steelpan Company, Susan Tankersley, Odella T. Family Fun Day

CORTLAND — Learning Friends Preschool of Cortland will hold its annual Family Fun Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 1. The free event will include food, games, face painting, a clown and a visit from the Mahoning Valley Scrappers mascot. The school is inside Cortland Christian Church, 153 Grove Drive.
