YOUNGSTOWN — General Motors Corp. is inviting people to share their personal experiences with the company at GMnext.com. The automaker said it is seeking everything from a story about a summer job in an assembly plant to pictures of a first car.
Web site visitors can post a picture, write a story or read what others have shared. All submissions are moderated, but accuracy is overseen by the user community and subject matter experts.
EnergyShare program
takes applications
CLEVELAND — EnergyShare, Dominion East Ohio’s last-resort heating assistance program, is accepting applications. The Salvation Army administers EnergyShare throughout Dominion East Ohio’s service territory. For information on the nearest office, call (888) 667-3000.
EnergyShare, supported by donations from Dominion customers and its employees, is designed to help those in need heat their homes after they have exhausted all other forms of assistance. Payments go directly to the energy vendor on behalf of the recipient.
Group to host meeting
about small businesses
AUSTINTOWN — The National Federation of Independent Business/Ohio will host an Area Action Council meeting from 7:45 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Comfort Inn - Austintown, 5425 Clarkins Drive. Small-business owners will have an opportunity to meet with Ohio Treasurer Richard Cordray to discuss Ohio’s small-business outlook and to hear about programs available for small businesses through the state treasurer’s office. women-owned ventures
YOUNGSTOWN — Tatiana S. Manolova, assistant professor at Bentley College, will speak on “What Do Women Want? Growth Motivations and Roads to Profitable Growth of Women-Owned Ventures” from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 26 in the DeBartolo Stadium Club at Youngstown State University.
The program is designed for women entrepreneurs in celebration of National Business Women’s Week and National Entrepreneurship Week. It is sponsored by YSU’s business college, Partners for Workplace Diversity, and Youngstown Business & Professional Women. There is no charge, but reservations are due by Feb. 20 by calling (330) 941-3064.
Manolova’s research and teaching interests include strategic management, international entrepreneurship and management in transitional economies. She is affiliated with the Panel Study of Entrepreneurial Dynamics, which investigates the new firm creation process, and with Diana International, which explores growth strategies of women business owners worldwide.

BOARDMAN — The Western Reserve Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management will hold a dinner meeting at 6 p.m. March 11 at Rusty’s Southside Grill.
