Pymatuning Township to get leftover CDBG funds for waterlines

MERCER, Pa. — Pymatuning Township is expected to receive $27,650 in leftover 2003 Community Development Block Grant funds toward extension of waterlines to a development there.

Senior Planner Chris Conti of the Mercer County Regional Planning Commission said the CDBG funds were left over from two 2003 projects, one of which was not feasible and one which required slightly less than anticipated.

The planning commission staff has recommended that the money be used instead toward extending waterlines to the Greenville-Reynolds Development in Pymatuning.

In 2006, $130,000 had been awarded for sanitary sewer upgrades in that development, less than half what had been asked. No money was awarded for the waterline extension, which also been requested.
