PHILADELPHIA — Steve Valiquette made 31 saves to record his second straight shutout over the Flyers. Nigel Dawes and Scott Gomez scored power-play goals for the Rangers, who have dominated the Flyers in Philadelphia. New York has won 11 of its last 12 games at the Wachovia Center, and is 6-0-1 there since a loss on April 15, 2006. Valiquette’s only other career shutout came in Philadelphia on Jan. 31.

Maple Leafs 3, Red Wings 2, OT

TORONTO — Nik Antropov deflected in Anton Stralman’s slap shot 62 seconds into overtime to lift Toronto over Detroit. Darcy Tucker scored for Toronto in the first period, Nicklas Lidstrom tied it 1-1 in the second, and then the five-time Norris Trophy winner gave Detroit the lead at 11:18 of the third when his long shot was stopped by Vesa Toskala and rebounded off Mikael Samuelsson and into the net. Leafs captain Mats Sundin tied it 2-2 at 13:35 when his soft shot ricocheted in off the inside of Dominik Hasek’s right skate blade. Lidstrom’s assist on Samuelsson’s goal was his 54th point, the most among NHL defensemen.

Wild 4, Islanders 3, OT

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Brent Burns scored 2:34 into overtime to lift Minnesota and send the New York Islanders to their seventh straight loss. Brian Rolston had two goals for the Wild, who were outshot 29-18 and trailed 3-2 with 4:05 left in the third period when Sean Bergenheim scored for the Islanders. New York picked up its first standings point since beating Carolina on Jan. 22, dropping the next six in regulation.

Thrashers 2, Lightning 1, OT

ATLANTA — Alexei Zhitnik scored 1:26 into overtime and Atlanta rallied past Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay goaltender Johan Holmqvist was left bowed forward in dejection, his helmet touching the ice, after the winner. Holmqvist and the Lightning shut out the Thrashers for the first two periods. Kari Lehtonen stopped 27 shots for Atlanta. Vincent Lecavalier, second in the NHL with 72 points, gave Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead with a second-period goal. Atlanta answered with a tying slap shot by Marian Hossa 4:18 into the third period.

Senators 6, Canadiens 1

OTTAWA — Jason Spezza scored three goals and a career-high six points, and Ottawa’s top line combined for 15 points. Daniel Alfredsson, who returned after missing four games because of a nagging hip injury, had two goals and three assists, and Dany Heatley had a goal and three assists as Ottawa’s high-scoring trio was reunited for the first time in 13 games. Spezza gave the Senators’ a 2-0 lead 1:42 in with a pair of goals 1:20 apart. The playmaking center assisted on goals by Alfredsson and Heatley before completing his first NHL hat trick on a power play 13:36 into the second to increase the lead to 5-0. Spezza assisted on Alfredsson’s second of the game, on a power play 2:28 into the third, for his sixth point. Andrei Kostitsyn scored Montreal’s only goal on a 5-on-3 advantage with 25 seconds remaining in the second.

Devils 6, Hurricanes 1

NEWARK, N.J. — Paul Martin scored two goals in an NHL game for the first time, pacing New Jersey’s rout of Carolina. The offensive outburst was triggered by the Devils defensemen, as Colin White and Johnny Oduya joined Martin in scoring. Dainius Zubrus and Jay Pandolfo also connected, and Martin Brodeur made 22 saves as the Devils ended a two-game losing streak.

Panthers 6, Bruins 3

BOSTON — Olli Jokinen and David Booth scored 14 seconds apart in the second period, Richard Zednik had two goals, and Florida beat Boston. The Panthers won for the fourth time in five games, scoring 24 goals during that stretch. Nathan Horton and Ville Peltonen had Florida’s other goals.

Flames 4, Oilers 1

CALGARY, Alberta — Owen Nolan scored two goals to lead Calgary over Edmonton. Dion Phaneuf and Jarome Iginla also scored for Calgary and Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 14 shots. Kristian Huselius and Alex Tanguay had two assists apiece. Robert Nilsson had the only goal for the Oilers, who beat the Flames 5-0 at home on Monday night.
