SCOUTS

Eagle award

Bryan Cunningham, 18, son of Rich and Diana Fagan Cunningham of Canfield, will receive his Eagle Scout Award, Boy Scouting’s highest honor, at a court-of-honor ceremony Feb. 20 at Canfield United Methodist Church.

Bryan joined Troop 25 in October 2002, and he has held positions of assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, scribe and historian. His scoutmaster is Kevin Prus Sr.

He has earned 24 merit badges and special awards of Ordeal member of Order of the Arrow, Five Year Pipestone Award at Seven Ranges Scout Camp and two 50-miler awards. He earned the troop award of Bob Roberts Memorial Back Patch with four star points.

Bryan participated in the Tinnerman Canoe Base in 2004 and Philmont High Adventure Camp in 2007.

For his Eagle Scout service project, he planned, organized, developed and secured donations for the landscaping of the Canfield Veterans War Museum. This included the removal of old plants and shrubs and planting new shrubs and flowers and adding mulch with the help of volunteers.

He is a senior at Canfield High School, where he has been a member of the band, Key Club and Junior Engineering and Technology Society. He also received a trophy award for the Canfield Art Show in 2007. He also received first place Art Award at First Night Canfield in 2003, Silver Key Scholastic Art Award in 2004, was on the National Honor Roll in 2005 and National Society of High School Scholars 2006-2007.

Bryan is a member of St. Michael Church.

LAWYERS

Sworn in as attorney

Stacey Walley, formerly of North Lima, recently was sworn in as an attorney during a ceremony in Columbus. She is the daughter of Robert and Michele Walley of North Lima.

A graduate of South Range High School in 2000 and John Carroll University in 2004, she graduated from Cleveland-Marshall Law School in 2007.

Walley is employed by the law firm Smith & Condeni in Cleveland.

Her grandmother is Babe Petrolla of Canfield.
