Clippers down Beaver Local; Boardman, Fitch fall
COLUMBIANA — Saturday’s Columbiana-Beaver Local boys basketball game produced 92 first-half points.
After the Clippers (18-1) took a 49-43 lead, they went on to post a 87-74 victory.
The Clippers put 10 players in the scoring column and they were paced by Joe Blinsky with 35 points.
Andrew Tirpak and Josh Weikart had 12 apiece. Weikart grabbed 10 rebounds and Travis Denmeade had four steals.
Ethan Russell sparked the Beavers (2-17) with 25 points. Matt Clutter and Scott Kreefer chipped in with 11 apiece.

CANTON — Mark Henninger led Jackson with 18 points as the Polar Bears won the fifth-place game of the Federal League tournament at the Canton Civic Center.
Dan Kubala and Devron Martin each scored six points for Boardman (8-11, 2-8),which fell behind 28-16 at halftime. J.T. Moore had seven rebounds.
Uniontown Lake 58, Fitch 38
CANTON — Billy Habek scored 16 points and Allen Meffan added 15 to lead Lake (12-8) in the seventh-place game of the Federal League tournament.
Jon Ballard scored 14 points to lead Fitch (2-16), which trailed 22-7 after one quarter.
