Ohio State University seeking alumni award nominations


COLUMBUS — The Ohio State University Alumni Association is seeking nominations for its 50th annual alumni awards.

To nominate a distinguished alumna or alumnus, download the official nomination form and complete the listed instructions at www.ohiostatealumni.org/awards/history. All nominations must be postmarked by March 31. This year’s ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 26 at the Hyatt Regency, 350 N. High St., Columbus.

Award categories include the prestigious Alumni Medalist award, which is presented to an alumna or alumnus who has gained national or international distinction as outstanding exponents of a chosen field or profession, and who have brought extraordinary credit to the university and significant benefit to mankind.

Other categories are:

UDan L. Heinlein award: For university advocacy.

U Josephine Sitterle Failer award: For volunteer service to Ohio State students.

U Ralph Davenport Mershon award: For service to Ohio State.

U William Oxley Thompson award: For early career achievement (35 or younger).

U Alumni Citizenship award: For service to one’s community.

U Professional Achievement award: For career achievement.
