Registration

Schools are beginning to register children for kindergarten for the 2008-09 school year. In most cases, children must be age 5 by Sept. 30 and have proof of proper immunizations, their birth certificate, a Social Security number and proof of residency at the time of registration. Proof of legal custody may also be required. Any additional requirements are listed with each school.

Joseph Badger: Registration will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 27 and 28. Additional information may be obtained by calling Badger Elementary at (330) 876-2860 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays.

Niles: Registration and screening for kindergarten and open enrollment pupils will be held by appointment only April 7-11 at Niles Middle School, 411 Brown St. Parents or guardians should call the school administration building at (330) 652-4929 or 652-0269 between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to schedule an appointment. A registration packet will be mailed to those registered.

Struthers: Registrations packets will be available for pickup at the Board of Education Office, 99 Euclid Ave., beginning Monday. They should be completed and returned to the board office by Feb. 22. The person registering the child must carry proof of identification, and three proofs of residency are required.

Lowellville: Registration will be held next week at ths school’s main office, 52 Rocket Place. Parents or guardians may register children from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Jackson-Milton: Registration will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. March 13 at Jackson-Milton Elementary School. The first 50 registrants will be given a backback and school supplies. For those unable to register on that date, the elementary office will accept registrations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays. Two forms of proof of residency will be required and parents will be given a school health and medical form to be completed at registration. Children entering first grade must be 6 years old byDSept. 30 and must have kindergarten experience.
