For cleaning help

Katie Burkey, owner of Molly Maid in Girard, offers the following advice for people who hire people to clean in their homes:

Use a cleaning company instead of an “independent” cleaning person because maid services such as hers generally conduct background checks on employees, do random drug screens on them, carry insurance on them, and require employees to work in pairs. They often set rules that prevent employees from entering closed closets, drawers or cabinets unless requested by the customer.

If hiring an individual, pay for a background check and/or ask for several references.
