Ursuline grad Brown scores 10 in CSU loss


CLEVELAND (AP) — Todd Brown and Vaughn Duggins each scored 12 points as Wright State jumped out to an early lead and held on to beat Cleveland State, 55-49, on Thursday night.

Wright State (16-6, 8-4 Horizon League) opened with a 15-2 run and kept their lead throughout.

Cleveland State (14-10, 7-5) got to within two, 43-41, with 6:37 to play. But Cooper Land hit a 3-pointer, Will Graham converted a Todd Brown steal into a layup and Scottie Wilson made another layup for Wright State to make it 50-41 with 4:38 left.

Cleveland State couldn’t get closer than five from there.

Joe Davis scored 11 points and D’Aundray Brown (Ursuline) and Cedric Jackson each scored 10 for the Vikings.

Land finished with eight points for Wright State, which shot 48.8 percent.
