Property, fee legislation moves forward

CAMPBELL — City council advanced to a second reading legislation creating two new property classifications, and fees to the original three classifications listed in its storm-water management law.

The proposed changes are to make the monthly fees more equitable, said Mayor John Dill.

Classifications added are duplex and multifamily. The original categories and fees were: single family, $3; other developed property, $15; and industrial, $75. Those remain the same.

The fees for the new categories are: duplex, $3; and multifamily, $1.50 per unit.

Also advanced to second and third readings, respectively, are a resolution authorizing the director of administration to advertise for bids and the board of control to enter into contract for storm sewer and catch basin cleaning; and to advertise for bids and/or purchase a 2008 model police cruiser through the State Cooperative Purchasing Program or another source, whichever price is lowest.
