A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard and Liberty:
GIRARD
Feb. 1
Arrest: After going to an East Second Street home to serve a warrant, officers took a 33-year-old woman into custody. She was wanted on a charge of larceny.
Theft: A worker for the Youngstown Country Club Inc., 710 E. Liberty St., reported the theft of two radiators from two vehicles.
Identity fraud: A Beechwood Drive man reported receiving a call from a collection agency regarding a bill for $1,291 worth of phone services to a Cleveland residence, but that he never lived there.
Arrests: Officers charged three Warren men, ages 21, 22 and 25, with criminal trespassing after saying they were inside a concrete culvert on a piece of property off North State Street. The three admitted looking for scrap but not having had permission to be on the property, the report said.
Feb. 2
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: An East Main Street woman reported her 1997 Mercury Caravan was taken without her consent.
Theft: A worker for a Shell station, 420 S. State St., told police she allowed a woman to buy $35 worth of gasoline after the woman’s credit card was rejected, with the condition that she return to pay for her purchase. The woman, however, failed to do so, the employee said.
Domestic violence: A Columbus man, 29, was charged after a Mosier Road woman alleged her intoxicated boyfriend punched her in the face and choked her.
Feb. 3
Criminal damaging: A Trumbull Court man accused his former girlfriend, 49, of causing $1,000 worth of damage to his vehicle by striking the driver’s-side door and cracking the windshield.
Arrest: Authorities took into custody a 25-year-old Girard man after responding to a fight at a State Street business. The man was charged with disorderly conduct after being part of the melee, police said.
Aggravated menacing: A South Davis Street woman reported a man sneaked up from behind while she was at her vehicle, held a knife to her throat and threatened to harm the accuser and her children.
Feb. 4
Domestic violence: A 41-year-old North Highland Avenue man was charged after a family member alleged he came home drunk, pushed her several times and threatened to harm her.
Theft: A woman’s wallet was removed from her car while she was in the 400 block of North State Street.
Feb. 5
Criminal damaging: A Poland man discovered a key was used to damage the finish on his two vehicles while he was at a North State Street restaurant. Damage was estimated at $1,000.
LIBERTY
Feb. 1
Arrest: The Ohio State Highway Patrol turned over to Liberty authorities a Warren woman, 20, who was wanted on a warrant from the township charging her with passing bad checks.
Domestic violence: A Youngstown man, 40, faced a charge after a West Montrose Street woman alleged he came to her home, took a steak knife from the sink and threatened her with it.
Theft: Someone stole a 95-gallon garbage container from Tiki Mobile, 1482 W. Liberty St.
Theft: A worker for a Belmont Avenue business reported his $150 mountain bike stolen.
Feb. 2
Breaking and entering: A worker for K-9 Design Grooming, 3620 Belmont Ave., told police someone apparently used a key to gain entry and remove an undisclosed amount of money from a desk.
Theft: Police charged a 43-year-old Warren woman with theft and possession of criminal tools after a car charger was taken from Radio Shack, 3551 Belmont Ave. She also used a pair of wire snips to remove the bar codes, officers said.
Identity theft: A Murray Hill Drive man reported a phone company informed him of three cell phone accounts that had been opened with his information. A bill for $1,002.73 in his name was sent to an address he never lived at, he said.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: An East Main Street woman reported going to a Belmont Avenue business and, after coming out, discovering her 1997 Mercury Villager had been taken without permission.
Drugs: A traffic stop near Trumbull Avenue led to the arrests of two Girard men, 39 and 54 after police said they found two rocks of suspected crack cocaine totaling 2 grams, as well as a suspected crack pipe. One of the men faced a felony charge of possession of crack cocaine, the other a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Feb. 3
Theft: A Tuttle Drive man alleged a Berlin Center woman, 43, stole his bank card and withdrew $100.
Arrest: After pulling over a vehicle in the 1600 block of East Liberty Street, authorities arrested a 30-year-old Youngstown man wanted on a charge of contempt of court.
Stolen property: Police responded to a report of a shoplifter who fled a Belmont Avenue business in a car later determined to have been stolen. The 40-year-old Youngstown man faced two counts of receiving stolen property, one each for the vehicle and items taken from the business, the report said.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A man reported his mother’s 1998 Dodge van was taken from her Tuttle Drive home without permission.
Feb. 4
Arrest: Niles police apprehended a Youngstown man wanted on warrants from the township charging him with resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, drug abuse and several traffic violations.
