Grand theft charge

BOARDMAN — An Applecrest Court woman is charged with grand theft, accused of taking more than $19,500 from her employer. Police arrested Roxane Macklin, 44, Tuesday afternoon when she turned herself in at the police station. Last month, Family Dollar, Market Street, reported that Macklin, who formerly worked at the store, had stolen eight store deposits totaling about $19,583. The store’s corporate headquarters noticed money was missing and after checking paperwork with the bank, store personnel discovered a lag in deposits being dropped off at the bank. The Jan. 14 deposit for example, was dropped off Jan. 22. The store discovered that money was being stolen and the following day’s profits used to fill past deposit amounts, a report said.
