YOUNGSTOWN — The man found shot to death on the East Side on Wednesday night has been identified as Robert L. Rogers, 20, of Arch Street, reports show.

Police sent to the area of North Bruce Street and Charlotte Avenue around 8:40 p.m. to check out reports of gunshots found Rogers on his back in the roadway.

A check of the area turned up 18, 9mm shell casings and a cell phone near the driveway entrance to the former Lincoln Elementary School playground.

An earlier report in The Vindicator described the victim as Hispanic, but a police report described him as a light-skinned black man.
