Date changed for concert benefiting survivors of arson
YOUNGSTOWN — The concert at Chevrolet Centre to benefit the Crawford family has been changed to Feb. 19. It will feature eight musical acts plus other entertainers from the area. Six members of the Crawford family were killed in a fire last month at their East Side home.
Chevrolet Centre is donating the use of the facility, and several staffers are donating their time for the event, which will begin at 7 p.m.
Scheduled to perform are Greg Johnson from the Total Package Band, the P. Ross Berry Middle School choir, Jones 4 Revival, Captain Braskey, K-Awake, Stopping The Violence Movement (David Mines and 2Fly) and Symphony. Admission will be a minimum $10 donation (children under 5 free).
“The Youngstown community needs to pull together in this time of tragedy and the Chevrolet Centre is proud to be able to offer its services to this cause,” said Eric Ryan, the arena’s executive director.
Also among those offering their time or services are Big Jim London, SpeciaLite, Musician Support and Supply, Maynstream Media, Comcast, 5Star Limousine and the Boston Culinary Group. The Stopping the Violence Committee is a sponsor.
