YOUNGSTOWN — Concert pianist Roman Rudnytsky, a music professor at Youngstown State University, will be in Algeria from Sunday through Feb. 15 to play recitals in the cities of Algiers and Constantine and conduct three master classes for piano students and teachers. For the remainder of 2008, Rudnytsky will give concerts and master classes organized by the U.S. embassies in Belgium and Slovakia, Mali, Libya and Venezuela.

KENT — Re-Return, the annual environmental art show at Kent State University, features works manufactured by regional and national artists from recyclable materials. The exhibition, which opened Wednesday in the new Downtown Gallery, 141 E. Main St., runs through Feb. 23. Penn-Ohio Boat Show
returns to Eastwood
NILES — The 21st annual Penn-Ohio Boat Show will be held from Friday through Sunday at Eastwood Expo Center. Everything from 12-foot fishing boats to offshore cruisers will be on display, including pontoons, racing and high performance craft, and the Mahoning Valley Thunder cheerleaders will be on hand. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults (children are free). For more information, call (330) 544-8951.
Free ballroom dance
classes for students
The Youngstown-Warren chapter of USA Dance has partnered with John F. Kennedy and Boardman high schools for this years’ March Ballroom Madness, a series of free dance lessons for students. Led by USA Dance volunteers, students will learn the cha-cha, rumba, salsa, East Coast swing, waltz and tango. All current high school students from Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties are invited, but the class will be limited to the first 100 students who mail in their signed registration form. YOUNGSTOWN — Reignmaker Management is sponsoring a listening party for local recording artists, with Candee Reign, Sunday at Duka’s, 21 W. Hylda St. Doors open at 6 p.m. Ages 21 and over.
