School’s out for hockey: Four dozen middle schools had students at the SteelHounds’ third annual Kids Day on Tuesday. With 348 students and chaperones, St. Christine sent the most. Next were South Range Middle School (315), Mineral Ridge Middle School (293) and Beaver Local (238).
Wearing an A: With defenseman Jeff Alcombrack on the 30-day injured reserve list, defenseman Kurtis Dulle has been named an alternate captain and is wearing an A on his jersey. Alcombrack suffered a concussion on Jan. 25.
Former mates: SteelHounds defender Eric Main played his first game against the Brahmas since the trade two weeks ago that brought him to Youngstown. In six games with the SteelHounds he has two goals and two assists.
Season series: The SteelHounds and Brahmas are members of the Central Hockey League’s Northeast Division. The SteelHounds lead the season series, 5-2-0.
