Man shot in mouth and killed

YOUNGSTOWN — City police were on the scene late Wednesday of an East Side shooting death.

Police said they believe a Hispanic man was shot in the mouth at Bruce Street and Charlotte Avenue about 9 p.m.

Officers said detectives would be interviewing witnesses at the police station. Police had cordoned off the area.

This would be the city’s seventh homicide of 2008.

Earlier this month, an arson fire killed six members of the Crawford family at 1645 Stewart Ave. on Youngstown’s East Side. A neighbor, Michael A. Davis, 18, of 817 Bennington Ave., is charged in the aggravated murders and aggravated arsons.
