Smith’s 22 points lead Lisbon’s victory


The Blue Devils turned back East Palestine, 45-35.

EAST PALESTINE — Emily Smith’s 22 points Monday led the Lisbon High girls basketball team to a 45-35 victory over East Palestine.

Smith’s efforts included five 3-point goals. Lisbon (15-4, 10-4 ITCL Tier One) led 25-16 at halftime, but had to hold off the Bulldogs in the third quarter.

Bre Hull and Logan Guy each had 11 points for the Bulldogs (5-14, 2-12).

Columbiana 61, Mineral Ridge 17

COLUMBIANA — Katie Witmer outscored the entire Mineral Ridge team as she tossed in 19 points

The Clippers (11-9, 9-5 ITCL Tier One) held the Rams (1-18, 0-14) to four points in the first half.

Springfield 45, Crestview 42

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Ashley Davis’ 20 points included 10 free throws for the Tigers (7-13, 5-9 ITCL Tier One).

The Tigers outscored the Rebels 17-7 in the fourth quarter. Melissa Huffman and Rachel Kennedy each scored nine points. Kennedy and Brittany Chamberlain each pulled down six of the Tigers’ 29 rebounds. Andria Lyons made three steals.

For the Rebels (12-8, 7-7), Chelsea Bowker had 11 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and four steals. Hillary Phillis scored 10 points.

Lowellville 65, Wellsville 59

WELLSVILLE — Whitney Palumbo poured in 32 points while Ali Grapevine added 11 to pace Lowellville (11-9, 10-4 ITCL Tier Two).

For Wellsville (5-15, 4-10 ITCL Tier Two), Shawntae Dillard had 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Marie Keller had 14 points and seven rebounds while Brittany Bissell had 13 points. Mikelle Williams had 10 points and three steals while Sarah Drysdale had six points and seven rebounds.
