HANDICAP PARKING TAGS | Eligible Ohioans


General Information: Must have a disability that limits or impairs the ability to walk.

Eligibility: Must be an Ohio resident and submit completed application form signed by the applicant and the applicant’s physician, chiropractor or advanced practice nurse.

Handicap: Cannot walk 200 feet without stopping to rest; cannot move about without the aid of a device such as a wheelchair, prosthetic or cane; has limited mobility due to arthritic, neurological or orthopedic conditions. The benefit extends to people with lung or heart disease, the blind, and those who use portable oxygen.

Tag time: If the disabling condition is more than six months, a permanent tag will be issued; renewal application form mailed automatically 60 days before expiration. If the disabling condition is six months or less, a temporary tag will be issued; cannot be renewed.

Fee: No fee for disability placards. A $3.50 deputy registrar processing fee for each tag issued.
