Ex-team treasurer
pleads guilty in theft
WARREN — The former treasurer of the Hubbard Little Eagles Youth Football League has pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of property in the theft of money from the league. Susan Hetrick, 38, of Vista Drive, Hubbard, pleaded guilty Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court before Judge Peter Kontos, who ordered that a pre-sentence report be conducted. The report usually takes four to six weeks to prepare. In exchange for the plea, a charge of theft was dismissed. David Toepfer, an assistant county prosecutor, said Hetrick stole about $20,000 from the league. She has made restitution of $13,000 and will pay back an additional $8,000. Toepfer said the cash was used to pay her household bills from March 2006 to May 2007.
