East holds off Fitch for a 54-52 triumph

YOUNGSTOWN — The East High girls basketball team led 44-35 heading into Monday’s final quarter then held off Fitch, 54-52.
Brittany Taylor scored a game-high 27 points to spark the Panthers (8-11). Bethany Hines chipped in with seven and Brianna Dawson pulled down nine rebounds.
Rachel Rovan, Kayla Hanuschak and Sammie Rovnak scored 17, 13 and 11 points respectively for the Falcons (6-14).
Mooney 49, Aquinas 41
YOUNGSTOWN — Sarah Pelini scored 11 of her 23 points in the second quarter when Mooney outscored Aquinas 17-8 to take control.
Dayna Daltorio added 10 points for the Cardinals (11-8), who held a 40-24 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Summers Black scored 13 points and Kelley Sanchez added 12 for Aquinas (3-16).
Campbell 48, East Liverpool 40
CAMPBELL — The Red Devils (4-14, 2-11) took a 16-8 lead in the first quarter and they were ahead 38-33 heading into the final eight minutes of Metro Athletic Conference action.
Nate-tay Jones Logan led the Campbell balanced scoring attack with 15 points. Danielle Bell added 13 and Jayaira Grihm had 11.
Cierra Moxley led the Potters (9-8, 5-7) with 15 points. Brittany Tomaselli finished with 11.
Warren Harding 70,
Ashtabula Edgewood 58
WARREN — Jasmine Kirkland tallied 22 points and grabbed 20 rebounds to lead Harding (14-5).
The Raiders rallied from a 44-42 deficit after three periods by outscoring Edgewood by 27-14 in the final quarter.
Kourtney Williams chipped in with 19 rebounds while Kamela Bender added 13 points and seven assists to bolster the Raiders.
Liz Wilson delivered 16 points and Katie McMullen 14 to lead Edgewood, while Cylie Cole had 11 points and Jordan Cooley nine.
Southeast 47, Norton 37
NORTON — The unbeaten Pirates (19-0), ahead 28-25 after three quarters, outscored Norton 19-12 in the final eight minutes of the game.
Erikka Coonts sparked Southeast with 11 points. Lindsay Speidal and Mya Levels chipped in with 10 apiece.
Natalie Cook led Norton with 15 points.
