North Side resident reports home invasion
YOUNGSTOWN — A 26-year-old North Side man told police he was punched and kicked by three home invaders after he opened his front door to them early Sunday.
The victim said three 18- or 19-year-old men forced their way into the house, dragged him away from the door, and assaulted him after he opened his door in the 2200 block of Elm Street in response to knocking at 3:23 a.m.
The victim said the burglars followed him as he ran north on Elm Street from the house, and then the suspects ran to a driveway across the street, entered a vehicle and fled. Neighbors said they had seen the suspects walking in the area around 11 p.m. Saturday.
Police said the victim was bleeding from the mouth, but he refused medical treatment. A man and a woman, who reside in Willard, Ohio, told police they witnessed the attack during a visit here.
