X CHICAGO — The wedding of Susan Howell, a daughter of Walter and Diane Howell of Girard, and Justin Burns, a son of Jerry and Mary Lou Burns of Springfield, Ill., took place Oct. 20 at the Winter Garden Room of the Harold Washington Library Center, where their reception was held afterward.

Pastors Maren and Brian Hooper officiated at the 5 p.m. wedding, and after accepting congratulations, the couple left for a honeymoon in Jamaica.

They live in Chicago.

The bride wore a sleeveless dupioni silk A-line gown with a V-neckline.

Chocolate-brown dresses were worn by the bride’s sister and honor attendant, Kim Hynes of Youngstown, and the bridesmaids, Heather Logan of Girard and Nicole Ranttila, Mindi Huelsmann and Megan Czerniejewsi, all of Chicago.

Serving as best man was the groom’s brother, Adam Burns of Indianapolis, and the groomsmen were Chris Wade, Chris Boese, Troy Swanson and Jeff Kashmier, all of Chicago.

A graduate of Ohio University Scripps School of Journalism in Athens with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, the bride is a management supervisor with Jacobs and Clevenger.

The groom, a benefits service manager with Hewitt Associates in Lincolnshire, Ill., graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
