East Palestine cruises 69-49

Bulldogs over Beaver Local with 24 points.

LISBON — Nick DiCello had career-highs of 24 points and 11 assists to lead the East Palestine High boys basketball team to a 69-49 win over Beaver Local Saturday night.

Ben Gysin added 15 points and 12 rebounds and Chad Campagna 12 points on four 3-point goals to aid the Bulldogs (13-5).

Zach Zelinsky had 15 points and Ethan Russell 10 to lead Beaver Local (1-16).

Youngstown Christian 96,
Ledgemont 44

THOMPSON — Youngstown Christian (10-6) put 12 players in the scoring column, led by David Colbert with 18 points, Olonzo Johnson 16 and Victor Shaw 14.

Doug Chumika added 10 points and John Pecchia nine to aid the winners, who rolled to a 43-15 halftime lead.

Derek Cantrell had 13 points and Joe Glogouski 10 to lead Ledgemont.

Champion 73, Girard 68

CHAMPION — Joe Cvengros led Champion’s (12-4, 6-4) balanced scoring attack with 24 points in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game. Kris Wildman and Derek Summer added 11 apiece and Markel Vaughn had 10. Adam Charles led the Indians (4-12, 4-6) with 25 points and Brett Cubellis had 18.

Warren JFK 73, Jefferson 60

WARREN — Nick Brown poured in 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Warren JFK (7-10). Stephen Procopio added 18 points and 10 rebounds, Brian Guarnieri added 10 points and Boo Timko seven assists and five points to bolster the Eagles. Tyler Wright had 15 points to lead Jefferson while Zak Graf added 13 and C.J. Graf 10.

Mathews 60, Lordstown 42

VIENNA — Sophomore Rick Sommers scored 19 points for the Mustangs (8-8, 5-5 Northeast Athletic Conference).

Chris Morgan scored 14 points and pulled down 18 of Mathews’ 41 rebounds.

For the Red Devils, Nate Rech scored 11 points and had five rebounds while Jake Dieugenio had 10 points.

Fitch 53, Geneva 46

AUSTINTOWN — The Falcons (3-15) trailed at 25-23 at intermission, but outscored Geneva 30-21 in the second half for the victory.

Ty Underwood led the Falcons with 17 points and Jon Ballard added 14. Tyler Erb paced Geneva with 22 points.

Friday night Fitch lost to Canton GlenOak, 70-56, in the Federal League tournament. Stockman led the Falcons with 17 points and C.J. McCollum took scoring honors for the Golden Eagles with 30 points.
