Rangers 3, Devils 1

NEWARK, N.J. — Chris Drury scored two goals and Henrik Lundqvist made 33 saves as the New York Rangers continued their dominance of the New Jersey Devils. The Rangers have won all five meetings this season between the metropolitan area rivals and Lundqvist has been a major part of that success. He was in net for all five wins, allowing only five goals. Brandon Dubinsky also scored the Rangers who have won two straight — on the road on consecutive nights. Zach Parise scored for the Devils who have only two wins in their last seven games with all five loses coming on home ice.

Red Wings 2, Avalanche 0

DETROIT — Henrik Zetterberg’s 30th goal broke a scoreless tie with 2:20 left and Dominik Hasek made 15 saves for his 80th career shutout to lead Detroit. Kris Draper added an empty-netter for league-best Detroit, which won its sixth straight. Peter Budaj stopped 34 shots for Colorado.

Thrashers 5, Sabres 4, SO

ATLANTA — Eric Perrin, Atlanta’s fourth shooter, beat Jocelyn Thibault with a fake before scoring in the shootout to lift Atlanta. Perrin faked to his right before pulling the puck back and shooting past Thibault to the left side of the net, ending the Sabres’ three-game winning streak. Thrashers goalie Johan Hedberg stopped shots by Ales Kotalik, Derek Roy, Clarke MacArthur and Thomas Vanek in the shootout. Mark Recchi, Bobby Holik, Jim Slater and Tobias Enstrom scored in regulation for Atlanta. Jochen Hecht, Jason Pominville, Daniel Paille and Dmitri Kalinin had the Sabres’ goals.

Panthers 4, Canucks 3, SO

SUNRISE, Fla. — Nathan Horton scored the only goal in the shootout and Florida got its first win over Vancouver in more than eight years. Taylor Pyatt, Alexander Edler and Daniel Sedin missed shots for Vancouver in the shootout. Stephen Weiss missed for Florida, which didn’t need a third attempt after the Canucks’ three misses. Horton, Weiss, and Jozef Stumpel scored for Florida. Tomas Vokoun had 29 saves. The Sedin brothers, Daniel and Henrik, each had a goal and an assist for the Canucks. Mason Raymond also scored for Vancouver. Roberto Luongo stopped 40 shots in his first visit to Southeast Florida since the Panthers traded him to Vancouver on June 26, 2006. He spent five seasons with the Panthers.
