Two scholarships are awarded per year in an amount equal to the cost of one semester at a State System of Higher Education school (approximately $2,500). Scholarship applicants are judged based on an essay, their grades, community service, financial need and extracurricular activities. This year’s essay topic is President Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. Students should discuss how the address was influential by articulating the purpose and promise of the American people. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 grade point average.
