East's Thornton chooses YSU

East senior linebacker Gary Thornton verbally committed to YSU on Friday, giving the Panthers their second Division I commitment this offseason.

Quarterback Sal Battles committed to Kent State in December.

Thornton started his first three years at Rayen, then helped lead East to a 8-2 record in its first season.
