FOOD SALES AND DINNERS


FRIDAY

• Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.

• St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will have no pizza sales on Friday. Sales will resume Jan. 9.

SATURDAY

• A Swiss steak dinner will be served from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road. The menu will include mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, coleslaw, applesauce, bread and butter, homemade dessert and beverage. Takeout orders will be available. Cost is $7.50 for adults, $4 for children 5 to 12, and free for those 4 and under. The facility is handicap-accessible.

SUNDAY

• Capt. Charles M. Marino Post 3, Italian-American War Veterans, 113 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, will serve spaghetti dinners from noon to 5 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children 6 to 10. Those under 6 may eat for free. Carryouts also will be available; containers can be purchased or patrons may provide their own.

• Niles First United Methodist Church, 608 N. Crandon Ave., will host a baked potato and salad luncheon from noon to 3 p.m. The event is sponsored by the First UMC Relay for Life team. Tickets cost $5 per person, or $15 per family. Children under 5 eat free.

• Poland Masonic Temple, 7685 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, Poland, will serve Swiss steak dinners from noon to 4 p.m. (or until sold out). The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children 6 to 12, and free for those 5 and under. Carryouts will be available.

• Southington American Legion Post 751 will serve breakfasts of sausage and all-you-can eat pancakes and sausage, or biscuits and gravy, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the post, 3145 Warren-Burton Road, Southington. The donation is $5.50 for adults and $3 for children from 5 to 12. Those 4 and under eat free. The breakfasts will be available the first and third Sunday of each month through April.

• The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve breakfasts of eggs, sausage or ham, hash browns, pancakes, freedom toast, toast, and coffee or tea from 8 a.m. to noon. Meals are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

UPCOMING

• Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman Poland Road, Poland, will have takeout dinners available from 4 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out) Jan. 8. The cost is $6. No need to get out of the car. Just drive to the front of the church and your meal of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will be ready.

• Pricetown Methodist Church, 4640 Pritchard-Ohltown Road, Newton Falls, will serve home-cooked suppers from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 14. Meals will include a variety of soups, sandwiches with salads, and desserts. The cost for each meal is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 6 to 12, and free for those under 5. Carryouts will be available.

• VFW Triangle Post 2799 Auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve spaghetti dinners with meatballs, salad, bread and coffee or tea from 4 to 8 p.m. Jan. 8. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Carryouts are $6.25.

• A listing of food sales and dinners is published Wednesday. Please submit information for takeout and sit-down dinners to the Society Department before 5 p.m. Monday.
