Dec. 24

Theft: A 40-year-old Youngstown man faced the theft charge. He is accused of taking $85 worth of cologne from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: A charge was pending against a woman, no information given, after a $40 toy laptop computer was stolen from Wal-Mart.

Misuse of a credit card: A Youngstown woman suspected a friend of withdrawing $2,100 from her account at a Youngstown-Poland Road bank with the accuser’s debit card, without permission.

Criminal mischief: A man rummaged through and scattered garbage from a trash bin behind a Bev Road business.

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into Rick Bayus Motors, 5206 Youngstown-Poland Road, via the front door, damaged two vehicles and removed an Ohio dealer plate.

Possible theft: Two people left Burlington Coat Factory, 529 Boardman-Canfield Road, setting off the electronic security sensors.

Theft: A Boardman man, 40, was charged in the theft of $346.48 worth of clothing from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.

Criminal damaging: A Market Street man’s vehicle sustained a broken driver’s-side window.

Theft: An Erskine Avenue man reported several holiday decorations stolen from his front yard.

Theft: A man, 23, and a woman, 36, both of Youngstown, were charged. They were accused of stealing $73.72 worth of groceries from Wal-Mart.

Criminal damaging: A man discovered damage to two wooden chairs at his Brookwood Road apartment.

Arrest: Poland Village police handed a 24-year-old Lowellville woman wanted on felony charges of forgery and receiving stolen property to Boardman authorities. She was accused of forging a Youngstown woman’s signature on three checks totaling $501.

Dec. 26

Theft: A Struthers girl, 12, was accused of stealing $124 worth of jewelry and other items from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A charge was filed against a Youngstown man, 30, accused of deliberately failing to scan a book, two air fresheners and two undergarments before leaving Wal-Mart.

Theft: The front license plate was removed from a car in the 100 block of Beechwood Drive.

Theft: A Walker Mill Road man reported the theft of a book bag, a camera and various school supplies from his vehicle.

Theft: A man in his early 20s fled in a Chevrolet Lumina after stealing $427 worth of clothing from Kohl’s.

Recovered property: A wallet was found after an Oregon Trail man reported it stolen.

Misuse of a credit card: A Volant, Pa., woman reported her wallet stolen, and that three women likely used her credit card at two township stores.

Arrest: Officers responded to an unwanted person at a Market Street business, where they took into custody a 23-year-old Youngstown man upon learning he was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Drugs: A 27-year-old Youngstown man was charged with drug abuse and driving under the influence after being pulled over near Indianola Road. A search turned up a bag of suspected crack cocaine, the report said.

Theft: A Homestead Drive woman discovered an $800 dog missing from her backyard.

Theft: A Cortland woman called police after a $5,000 diamond engagement ring and a wedding band were taken from her van at the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A man stole $50 worth of Pittsburgh Steelers merchandise from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: An undisclosed amount of money was missing from a safe at Taco Bell, 940 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: Two Youngstown females, 17 and 18, were accused in the theft of 15 cosmetics items from Wal-Mart. The 17-year-old also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when, police said, a pipe with suspected marijuana residue was found.

Burglary: Someone broke into a residence in the 100 block of Clifton Drive through a rear door, then took a TV.

Theft: Police investigated possible employee theft at Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road, in which about $1,970 worth of merchandise was voided improperly or not scanned.

Burglary: A man reported a stereo, a DVD/videocassette recorder, two speakers, 500 DVDs and other items stolen from his father’s residence in the 4800 block of Erie Street.

Theft: Around $14 worth of food and beer was stolen from Sav-A-Lot, 223 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: A Lowellville woman’s wallet was removed from her purse at a Tiffany Boulevard restaurant.

Theft: A woman reported two necklaces and two sets of earrings missing from her Erskine Avenue home.

Dec. 28

Criminal damaging: A Bristlewood Drive man saw that eggs had been tossed at the rear of his home.

Domestic violence: A 31-year-old township man was charged after police responded to an altercation at the residence. A woman had scratches.

Theft: A woman’s wallet was stolen from her Applecrest Court apartment.

Criminal damaging: A man left a Boardman-Poland Road store and noticed someone had pried open his vehicle’s driver’s-side door with a screwdriver or similar tool.

Criminal damaging: A Pennsylvania couple in the 90 block of Carter Circle reported a rear window broken on their car.

Dec. 27

Drugs: A traffic stop on state Route 616 resulted in the arrests of a Struthers man, 20, and a 19-year-old Plumville, Pa., man. The local man faced a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia; the teen was cited after police said they found slightly more than 1 gram of suspected marijuana.
