A checklist of local, state and federal institutions and local businesses closed various days over the New Year’s holiday. Residents of communities not listed should check their governmental office schedules.

City offices: Youngstown, Warren, Salem, Sharon, New Castle, Newton Falls Municipal Court, closed Thursday; Niles, closed Thursday and Friday.

County offices: Mahoning, Columbiana, Mercer, Lawrence, closed Thursday; Trumbull, closed 12:30 p.m. Wednesday and closed Thursday.

All state offices: Closed Thursday.

Federal offices: Bankruptcy and District courts, closed Thursday and Friday.

Mail delivery: U.S. Post Office, Youngstown, Warren, closed Thursday.

Schools: Youngstown, Warren, Niles, Salem, Sharon, New Castle, Youngstown Diocese, closed until Monday.

Universities: Youngstown State, closed until Jan. 12; Kent State Trumbull campus, closed until Jan. 20.

Western Reserve Transit Authority: Closed Thursday.

Public libraries: Youngstown-Mahoning County, Warren-Trumbull, Kinsman Free Public Library, Bristol Public Library, McKinley Memorial Library, Niles and Newton Falls Public Library, closed Wednesday and Thursday; Hubbard Public Library, closed at 5 p.m. Wednesday and closed Thursday; Girard Free Library, closed at 3 p.m. Wednesday and closed Thursday.

Stock market: Butler Wick & Co., closed Thursday.
